A Great Baker & A Blessing

Sugar Angel Felicia, of San Antonio, Texas, considers it a blessing to have the opportunity to use her confectionary skills to help children with illnesses and their families.

“This has been a lifelong dream of mine to bake for children who may not be healthy or can't afford to buy a birthday cake, much less one they can design themselves,” said Felicia, owner of Cakes by Felicia. “It overflows my heart with happiness and joy to see that initial reaction especially if they aren't feeling well.”
Felicia, a self-taught custom cake decorator who recently earned her degree in baking and pastry arts at the Culinary Institute of America, recounts a recent experience with a little cutie named Bruce.
“When the family came to pick up the cake, as soon as Bruce saw it, he yelled out ‘LEGOOOOO!!!’ it was amazing!” said Felicia. “He could not stop staring at it! He wanted to touch all the fondant Legos, too.”
Felicia says she was extremely humbled by her experience and eagerly looks forward to her next Icing Smiles assignment. “Thank you Icing Smiles for making Bruce's dream a reality—and also thanks for making my dream a reality, too!"
